"My goals are simple: to continue learning, teaching and growing.

When this life comes to an end, I yearn to stand before my Maker and hear Him say, "Well done good and faithful servant."  Those words are so powerful that even in writing them, I cannot help but weep.

In Psalms 37:4, the Word states, "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart."

The desires of my heart are to be a positive influence for all, a leader for young women, to be able to give freely of time and money- in essence, to live a life that will not soon be forgotten."

TOP AWARDS AT STATE PAGEANT!!!

Amanda Schroeder of Alva was awarded the title of Mrs. Woods County 2007 in February. Along with the title, her obligations include speaking engagements, community service activities and promoting the Mrs. Oklahoma International pageant.

On Saturday, May 12th Schroeder competed against 15 married women for the title of Mrs. Oklahoma International 2007. “Although the interview portion is the part that makes most contestants nervous, I was excited! I feel extremely comfortable in my own skin- anyone who has been around me knows that I love to educate, especially when it comes to Women’s Health and Wellness issues.”

Schroeder’s first award was The Director’s Choice Award. “The Director’s Choice award is probably the most coveted award in this pageant. During the process of getting ready to compete, the director has the opportunity to build relationships with each girl. Being chosen was one of the best compliments I have ever received!”

Schroeder also went on to earn The Visibility Award which is awarded to the local titleholder who makes the most appearances with her title; the non-finalist Interview Award which is awarded to the non-finalist with the highest interview score and the non-finalist Evening Gown Award which is awarded to the non-finalist with the highest evening gown score. “It was absolutely incredible to be the only contestant to earn 4 awards- I felt like I stole the show!”

When asked if she had anything else to share, Schroeder replied, “I told myself at the beginning that if I did the best I could, with no regrets, I would be satisfied with any result- the results were beyond my expectations! This pageant was the first step on my journey from being successful to becoming significant. For me, this is only about giving to others and being a servant leader. I accomplished exactly what I set out to do and I am very proud of that.”
